INSTRUCTIONS FOR SAVING AND SORTING SPREADSHEETS

There are two simple ways to save or "download" spreadsheet displays to your own computer, something you must do in order to sort or otherwise manipulate the data. With the spreadsheet display of interest open on your computer screen (web browser), choose one of the following two options:

1.Copy into an Existing Spreadsheet - Highlight the spreadsheet in your web browser by clicking the upper left cell. Copy by right clicking or using CTRL C, and then paste into a blank Excel spreadsheet. Save to a folder on your computer.

2. Save Directly to your Computer - Select "Save as" from the file menu. Choose a folder destination for saving, and be sure to change the extension (the 3 characters after the period) to xls. If you wish, rename the document and remove the quote marks (although this is not required). Close the web browser spreadsheet before opening the new Excel spreadsheet.

Sorting - While not required, sorting may be a useful way to compare and rank spreadsheet records. After completing step 1 or 2 above, open the new spreadsheet and click the top left spreadsheet cell containing data (not the heading). Select "Sort" from the data menu, and then check to be sure that the portion of the spreadsheet you wish to be sorted is now highlighted. Follow the instructions for choosing the desired sort order, and then execute the sort.
