NMFS/USCG Announce 2009 Recordkeeping and Reporting Workshop at Pacific Marine Expo
The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), Alaska Region, and the United States Coast Guard, North Pacific Regional Fisheries Training Center (USCG), will present a combined
workshop for the fishing industry on 2009 recordkeeping and reporting (R&R) requirements for Federal fisheries off the coast of Alaska, according to Robert D. Mecum, Acting Administrator,
Alaska Region, NMFS.
The workshop will be held at:
10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.

The workshop will include:
- An overview of the required interaction between eLandings and the existing versions of
paper logbooks and forms.
- An overview of USCG fisheries boarding teams' training and expectations.
- eLandings and logbook requirements and regulation clarification.
- How to expedite USCG boardings.
This workshop is in addition to the eLandings workshop scheduled for November 20, 2008,
9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., at the Silver Cloud Inn Lake Union, Capital Hill Room, in Seattle,
Washington.
Regulations for Federal fisheries off the coast of Alaska are found at 50 CFR part 679 for
groundfish and 50 CFR part 680 for shellfish.
