J. Hardin Waddle, Ph.D. 2006. Wildlife Ecology and Conservation, University of Florida. Amphibian ecology, population ecology, conservation biology, population modeling and estimation.
The primary focus of Waddle's research program is on understanding the factors affecting the distribution and abundance of amphibian species. This includes researching methods for sampling amphibians and statistical methods for estimating population vital rates of amphibians. Waddle’s research projects have investigated the use of amphibians as ecosystem indicators and methods for using amphibian species occupancy as a tool for evaluating the effects of management actions. Waddle is currently the regional coordinator for the USGS’s South Central Amphibian Research and Monitoring Initiative (ARMI).
