Appomattox Court House National Historical Park is located in south central Virginia approximately 95 miles west of Richmond.

The main Visitor Parking Area is located on VA Rt. 24, 2 miles (4.8 km) northeast of the town of Appomattox, VA. The closest airport is in Lynchburg, VA, 25 miles (40.3 km) west.

Tour groups are welcome and bus parking is available at the site. Groups are requested to contact the park for reservations at least 30 days prior to arrival. 434-352-8987 x 31.

Did You Know?
Private William Pilcher, of the Otey Battery, (pictured in an early war artillery uniform)was issued this type III Richmond Depot Shell jacket less than 2 months prior to the surrender at Appomattox Court House. The original was donated by the Pilcher family and is at Appomattox Court House NHP.
