against women. These recommendations address the definition of the problem; the need for
multiple measures/collaboration across health, criminal justice and social service disciplines
and agencies; data collection strategies; methodological concerns; and confidentiality and
safety. Violence encompasses a broad range of maltreatment against women, including physical
violence, sexual violence, threats of physical and /or sexual violence, stalking, and
