Summer Hours:
(Begin the Friday of Memorial Day Weekend and continue through Labor Day Weekend)
Visitor Center—8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Trails—8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Please plan on being here by 6:00 p.m. at the latest to walk the 1/2-mile Inscription Trail; 5:00 p.m. to walk the entire 2-mile Headland Trail.

Fall Hours:
(Begin the Tuesday following Labor Day and end with the end of Daylight Savings Time)
Visitor Center—9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Trails—9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Please plan on being here by 5:00 p.m. at the latest to walk the 1/2-mile Inscription Trail; 4:00 p.m. to walk the entire 2-mile Headland Trail.

Winter Hours:
(Begin following the end of Daylight Savings Time and end when Daylight Savings Time starts in the spring)
Visitor Center—9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Trails—9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Please plan on being here by 4:00 p.m. at the latest to walk the 1/2-mile Inscription Trail; 3:00 p.m. to walk the entire 2-mile Headland Trail.

Spring Hours:
(Begin with the start of Daylight Savings Time and end the Thursday before Memorial Day Weekend)
Visitor Center—9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Trails—9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Please plan on being here by 5:00 p.m. at the latest to walk the 1/2-mile Inscription Trail; 4:00 p.m. to walk the entire 2-mile Headland Trail.

Dates and times are subject to change based upon staffing. Please call the visitor center (505-783-4226 ext. 0) for the most up-to-date information.

Closed December 25 and January 1.

Portions or all of the Headland Trail may be closed during the winter months (December through April) because of ice and snow. Visit the Weather page for more information.

Did You Know?
It is estimated that the mesa-top pueblo at El Morro National Monument contained about 875 rooms. However to see it is deceiving—only a small corner of the pueblo was ever excavated.
