The Global Invasive Species Information Network
(GISIN) was formed to provide a platform for sharing
invasive species information at a global level, via the
Internet and other digital means.

GISIN Symposium audio-visual presentations delivered at the Biodiversity Information Standards-TDWG 2008 Annual Meeting are now available online:

Building a TAPIR-Lite Toolkit for the GISIN - Graham, Jarnevich (delivered by Simpson) Audiovisual | Abstract

Invasive Species Information Management and Exchange in the Americas: the IABIN Invasives Information Network (I3N) - Fournier (delivered by Olson) Audiovisual | Abstract

Data Models to Share Invasive Species Information Through the GISIN - Simpson, Graham, Sellers, Browne (delivered by Simpson) Audiovisual | Abstract

Two technical data providers' workshops (GISIN1 and GISIN2) for first adopters of the GISIN System were held this summer to discuss the data sharing models and improve the GISIN search prototype. These workshops were made possible through funding from the Group on Earth Observations, the U.S. Geological Survey’s National Biological Information Infrastructure (NBII), and NASA, with logistical support from The Polistes Foundation. Summary reports from these workshops are now available.
