NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE OLYMPIC SUPPORT FORECASTERS BEGIN OPERATIONAL SUPPORT TO THE OLYMPIC GAMES

Nineteen National Weather Service forecasters will provide comprehensive, venue-specific weather support for 10 Olympic locations throughout Georgia beginning today and continuing through August 5.

Using the latest animated graphics technology, the Olympic Support Team forecasters will deliver live weather briefings daily at 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. at the Olympic Weather Support Office's media center located at 4 Falcon Drive in Peachtree City. Forecasters will also be available for interviews and to provide demonstrations of their state-of-the-art forecasting systems to media representatives from 9-10:30 a.m. and 4-5:30 p.m. each day.
