Haz-Map links jobs and hazardous tasks with occupational diseases and their symptoms. It is part of the National Library of Medicine's (NLM) TOXNET (http://toxnet.nlm.nih.gov/) system. Haz-Map's chemicals and biological agents are related to industrial processes and other activities such as hobbies. Its occupational diseases and their symptoms are associated with hazardous job tasks. Haz-Map's link with jobs and hazardous tasks helps to indicate the potential for exposure to these agents. Information from textbooks, journal articles, and electronic databases such as NLM's HSDB (http://toxnet.nlm.nih.gov/cgi-bin/sis/htmlgen?HSDB) was classified and summarized to create the database.
