Careers . . . In Anesthesiology pdf (567,241 Bytes) ocr (26,611 Bytes)
Description:
In this 1964 essay, Apgar discussed this history of anesthesiology and described the skills and training involved in anesthesiology practice. She included a discussion of anesthesiology as a specialty for women, noting that women physicians, usually possessed of tact and diplomacy, and accustomed to team work, were well fitted for it. She added, however, that residency and practice would be difficult for the married woman physician with children.
