Branch Chief: Zack Bowen
FORT scientists in the Ecosystem Dynamics Branch investigate a diversity of natural resource problems at the landscape and systems levels related to wildfire, riparian ecology, reference ecosystems, herbivore-ecosystem interactions, and integrated assessments of the urban-wildland interface.
USGS scientist and invited speaker Jill Baron will be an honored alumnus, and the only federal scientist, at the "Colloquium Celebrating a Centennial of Limnology at Cornell University," April 18 in Ithaca, NY. She will speak on "Atmospheric Deposition Effects on Alpine Lakes of the Rocky Mountains." At the 41st Air Pollution Workshop and Symposium April 20 in Fort Collins, CO, she will present on "Ecological Effects, Reference Condition, and the Critical Load for Nitrogen Deposition to High-Elevation Areas of the Rocky Mountains" during the pre-workshop symposium, which addresses air pollution in remote and high-elevation regions.
