Looking for a way to spend a few idle hours? Have a talent you would like to share? Want to learn a new skill? The Jimmy Carter National Historic Site is in need of volunteers. Volunteers at the Jimmy Carter National Historic Site help preserve and maintain the cultural and historic resources of the park for today’s visitors as well as for future generations who will explore the park years from now. Volunteers at the Jimmy Carter National Historic Site play an important role in daily operations.
Volunteer duties could include greeting visitors from around the world and providing them with valuable information, caring for farm animals, mending fences, gathering vegetables in the garden or assisting with school groups, depending on your interest. Please consider enriching our visitors’ experiences by sharing your time and knowledge at the Jimmy Carter National Historic Site.

Jimmy Carter returned to Plains, Georgia, in 1953 following his father's death to manage the family's agribusiness. That year he earned less than $200. His limited income qualified him to move into an apartment in the town's housing project for low income families.
