Western Fisheries Research Center (WFRC)

The Western Fisheries Research Center (WFRC) focuses on the rivers, streams, coastal/marine environments, lakes and estuaries located throughout the western United States. The Center helps in the “recovery of threatened and endangered species ranging from salmon to tiny fish living in desert springs.” Areas of research also include fish diseases; the effects of water and land development, grazing, mining, and harvest; aquatic invasive species; fish passage; and fish hatcheries management.
