KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- On June 12, 2000, the Federal Emergency Management Agency's Project Impact: Building Disaster Resistant Communities will launch a national television public service announcement (PSA) campaign aimed at getting Americans to take action to make their communities disaster resistant. The focus of the PSA - "You can't prevent the weather, but you can prevent the damage."

The National Association of Broadcasters has taken on FEMA's Project Impact as a national campaign, and is distributing copies of the PSA to commercial television stations. Radio versions will be distributed in September 2000. The television PSA, plus a pre-recorded interview with Director Witt will be available via satellite, Monday, June 12 at the following times and coordinates:
