Johnson County Kansas To Host Project Impact Safety Day

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Johnson County Project Impact Public Education and Awareness Task Force will sponsor a countywide "Safety Day" on Saturday, May 20th starting at 10 a.m. and continuing until 4 p.m. The event will be held at Johnson County Community College - Carlson Center, 12345 College Blvd., Overland Park, Kan. The purpose of the event is to educate and motivate all citizens of Johnson County on actions they can take to minimize the impact of disaster damage to themselves and their community.
Project Impact: Building Disaster Resistant Communities is an initiative of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) that is designed to help local communities take steps to reduce the effects of future disasters.
The Safety Day event will include FEMA Project Impact Officials as well as a range of organizations from federal, state, and the local community involved with disaster response and assistance.
