>> Access PRODIP Data

This page provides access to the Argo and GTSPP data collected in the Pacific ocean. These data, written in netCDF (Network Common Data Form), are mainly ocean vertical temperature and salinity profiles at a given time and location. If the NetCDF format is new to you, we encourage you read the NetCDF primer to become familiar with the format.

The data are divided into years, but further subdivided by months. In each year there are 12 compressed (zipped) data files, one for each month of the year. The compressed files are also known as the monthly archives. Each archive has its own index file (inventory table) that lists individaul station's URL (Uniform Resource Locator), path and file names, the sampling date and location, and observations in that month.

The monthly archives and their inventory files are accessed through the data links below:

1990 | 1991 | 1992 | 1993 | 1994 | 1995 | 1996 | 1997 | 1998 | 1999 | 2000 | 2001 | 2002 | 2003 | 2004 | 2005 | 2006 | 2007 | 2008

The NODC has produced a suite of digital versatile disc (DVD), known as the Pacific Region Ocean Data Suite (PRODS), containing the data available online. The DVD is updated quartly and distributed to the public at user's request. Contact the NODC customer service for the ordering informaiton about the PRODS DVD.
