Onelia G. Lage M.D. is Associate Professor of Clinical Pediatrics and Director of Adolescent Medical Education and Community Health at the Miller School of Medicine / University of Miami. She is board certified in Pediatrics and subspecialty trained and certified in Adolescent Medicine.
Dr. Lage's research has included pregnancy prevention in chronically ill minority adolescents and mental health screening in at-risk youth. She has been awarded a leadership fellowship by the National Hispanic Medical Association and is committed to mentoring minority women in the health professions. Dr. Lage serves on multiple National and state committees including the AMA Adolescent Health Disparities workgroup, the Florida women's health policy workgroup and the Florida Board of Medicine among others. She was the recipient of the Miami-Dade Health Department volunteer physician of the year award in 2004 for her work with undocumented Hispanic teens in a faith-based clinic in Little Havana.
