Health care plans and establishment size in 2005

Participation in employer-provided health plans varied markedly by establishment size in 2005.

For example, 65 percent of workers in large establishments (defined as having 100 or more workers) participated in employer-provided medical plans in 2005.

In contrast, only 43 percent of workers in smaller establishments (those with less than 100 workers) participated in employer-provided medical plans.
