Fitness, wellness benefits moderately prevalent for State, local government workers

Full-time State and local government workers in the West were most likely to be eligible for a wellness program in 1998; more than 4 of every 10 were eligible for such a benefit. In the other 3 regions just over 3 in 10 were eligible for a wellness program.

Fitness centers were a less prevalent benefit among State and local government employees. Eligibility rates ranged from 20 percent in the North Central region down to 10 percent in the Northeast.
