Workplace injury and illness rates by industry in 2007

Between 2006 and 2007, the workplace injury and illness incidence rate declined in 5 of the 19 private industry sectors and was statistically unchanged in the remaining 14 industry sectors.

The industry sectors with declines were agriculture, forestry, fishing and hunting; mining; construction; manufacturing; and health care and social assistance.

Overall, the incidence rate for private industry decreased from 4.4 cases per 100 equivalent full-time workers in 2006 to 4.2 cases in 2007..
