The Local Government Employment and Payroll data contain statistics on the number of employees and gross payrolls for one month for local governments. These are statistics for the 50 state governments and the District of Columbia, as well as a Local National summary total. The statistics are available in ASCII text format, Excel spreadsheets, and viewable tables. Information about the content of the tables and files can be found in the Technical Documentation.
