Cedar Rapids, Iowa -- The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has announced new hours for its toll-free registration line. Beginning Monday, July 22, hours will be 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, CDT until further notice. The number is 800-621-FEMA (3362). People with hearing or speech impairments may call TTY 800-462-7585.

The toll-free registration line is provided for residents and business owners who sustained damage during the flooding from June 3 to June 25 to apply for disaster assistance.

The deadline to apply for assistance is Monday, August 19, 2002.

The counties affected are those where Individual Assistance is available in connection with President Bush's June 19 disaster declaration. The counties are: Allamakee, Benton, Buchanan, Cedar, Clayton, Clinton, Delaware, Des Moines, Dubuque, Fayette, Henry, Iowa, Jackson, Johnson, Jones, Lee, Linn, Louisa, Muscatine, Scott, Winneshiek.
