» More Information on Missouri Ice Storm

Kansas City, MO -- For Missouri residents who wish to have face-to-face meetings with Recovery Specialists, the time for visiting a Disaster Recovery Center is getting shorter.

State and federal officials announced today that Saturday, March 9, is the last day of operation for the fixed site Disaster Recovery Center at Benjamin Plaza Shopping Center (8938-E Hillcrest Rd.), as well as the mobile Disaster Recovery Centers.

It is not necessary to visit a Disaster Recovery Center to apply for or receive federal disaster assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Missourians affected by the January ice storm can register by phone by calling toll-free: 1-800-621-FEMA (3362). A TTY number for hearing- and speech-impaired callers is: 1-800-462-7585. The registration line is operational from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., seven days a week.
