Here’s a clipping from today’s Stars and Stripes about what we’re doing.  The guy in the picture is the resident engineer who is my supervisor.  The project I'm working on is called Modular Detainee Housing Units, MDHU (pronounced mid-hue), and affectionately termed "Bucca Boxes."  They are high security housing for detainees here at the Theatre Internment Facility.

These units will increase the maximum capacity of the current compounds by more than half while increasing the control over the detainees and security of the military units handling the detainees.  They are a very slick package and one of the high profile (Star) projects we have going on here.

The weather here is glorious, with mid-day temps in the low 100s — but it's a dry heat — and peaceful evenings with the constant hum of multiple generators to rock you to sleep.  Actually it isn't so bad; the nights really are nice and there are few interruptions.  I'm catching up on my reading for once.
