The Energy Systems Division at Argonne National Laboratory conducts applied research to develop sustainable innovative technologies to improve the efficiency of resource and energy utilization; to minimize our dependence on imported energy; and to enhance our national security.

The Division conducts research and develops technology to provide “innovation for a sustainable future” for our society and the businesses that drive our economy.

While much of our research is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy, we also conduct research for other federal agencies and for a wide range of private companies from small start-ups to Fortune 500 organizations.
