Michael Hagan, B.A., Ph.D. Candidate

Michael Hagan has been a staff economist and project officer on grants and contracts at the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ)/Agency for Health Care Policy and Research (AHCPR) since 1991. He was previously employed with Johns Hopkins University, the Social Security Administration, the Urban Institute, and the Agency's predecessor, the National Center for Health Services Research.

Mr. Hagan's research and published work have focused on the economics of disability and employer-based health insurance. At present, his extramural research portfolio includes projects examining recent changes in health care markets and organization, with an emphasis on the role of managed care.

Mr. Hagan has a B.A. and Ph.D. candidacy in economics from the University of Maryland.
