PRE-APPLICATION MEETING FOR THE COOPERATIVE PLANNING GRANT FOR CANCER 
DISPARITIES RESEARCH PARTNERSHIP RFA-CA-02-002

The Radiation Research Program of the Division of Cancer Treatment and 
Diagnosis will hold a pre-application informational meeting for 
investigators planning to submit applications in response to Request 
for Applications RFA-CA-02-002, “Cancer Disparities Research 
Partnership.” This meeting will provide prospective applicants with an 
opportunity in a public meeting to receive answers to their questions 
about the RFA. Representatives from the following offices will be 
available to answer questions relevant to applications responding to 
the RFA: Radiation Research Program of the Division of Cancer Treatment 
and Diagnosis, NCI; Grants Administration Branch, NCI; and the Special 
Review and Resources Branch, NCI.  Staff will be available to discuss 
the intent and requirements of the RFA, including but not limited to: 
the cooperative agreement mechanism, the roles of the Program Steering 
Committee and the Program Advisory Committee, expected interactions of 
partnership participants, telemedicine/teleconferencing, human subjects 
issues, informed consent requirements and patient confidentiality. The

Potential applicants to the RFA are not required to attend the pre-
application meeting. A written transcript of the meeting will be posted 
at http://www.nci.nih.gov/rrp/opps.htm as a public document as soon as 
possible after the meeting, to provide applicants unable to attend the 
meeting with access to the proceedings. All applicants are strongly 
encouraged to discuss their applications with Dr. Frank Govern or Dr. 
Rosemary Wong as early as possible in the process.
