State of Nevada Program Summary

Tomany, Chief Administrative Officer Division of Industrial Relations Department of Business and Industry 400 West King Street, Ste. 210 Carson City, NV 89703 The comprehensive mine health and safety training program for the miners, mine operators, supervisors, and contract employees working at mining operations is provided by the Nevada Department of Business and Industry through the Division of Industrial Relations, Mine Safety and Training Section. Pre-scheduled and unscheduled classes and safety meetings are conducted on the mine sites. Classes include:
The Mine Safety and Training Section also conducts mine safety and health inspections, conducts health surveys, provides consultations and technical assistance ranging from training program development to ventilation, boiler and pressure vessel inspection, industrial hygiene, and implements problem solving techniques and approaches to the many health and safety issues encountered in the Nevada mines.
