State of Arizona Program Summary
The Honorable Joe Hart, State Mine Inspector Laurie Swartzbaugh, Executive Assistant Arizona State Mine Inspector's Office 1700 West Washington, Ste. 403 Phoenix, AZ 85007-2805 The goal of the Arizona mine training program is to save lives, reduce injuries, and prevent health endangerment through increased opportunities for miners to receive Annual Refresher training which includes mine specific content, improved quality of presentations and added emphasis on additional health concerns. The program also conducts training for:
Arizona conducts two major seminars annually. One is held in conjunction with the Southwest Safety Conference in May. It provides instructors with a briefing about the latest ideas and techniques to keep their presentations fresh, interesting and relevant. The second conference, the International Safety Conference, covers all aspects of mining safety.
