Increasingly, partnerships have become one of the most effective ways for the NPS to develop a shared sense of stewardship and fulfill many aspects or our mission. Without partners and the resources they offer, many of our critical needs cannot be met. Ecosystem-based resource management requires close collaboration with the array of managers and stakeholders across the ecosystem. With the recognition of the critical need for employees skilled in partnership development, partnership management has become a core competency to carry out our NPS mission.

The Partnership and Public Affairs Office provides the following services

  • Support to Washington office public affairs on natural resource issues,
  • Increased and targeted partnership development
  • Participation with Centennial Challenge
  • Technical assistance to NRPC and park staff on partnership development including application of DO 21 Resources
