The production of tabulations from a query of the Census 2000 microdata files.

American Community Survey (ACS)

A new national wide survey designed to provide communities a fresh look at how they are changing by collecting detailed information on the characteristics of population and housing on an ongoing basis. Access ACS data through the U.S. Census Bureau’s main online data dissemination took, the American FactFinder (AFF).

American FactFinder (AFF)

U.S. Census Bureau’s online, self-service tool designed to deliver a wide variety of populations, economic, geographic, and housing information about the U.S. to individuals, educators, businesses, governments, and organizations.

Community-based Organizations

Civil society non-profits that operate within a single local community.

Minority Colleges and Universities

Colleges and universities who serve minority populations such as: Hispanic or Latino, Black or African American, Asian, Native Hawaiian, other Pacific Islander, American Indian, or Alaska Native.

Research Groups and Think Tanks

An organization, institute, corporation, or group that conducts research and engages in advocacy in areas such as social policy, political strategy, economy, science or technology issues, industrial or business policies, or military advice.

Tenure

The act, fact, or condition of holding something in one's possession, such as real estate. For Census data this refers to the distinction between owner-occupied and renter-occupied housing units.
