  • The following is a release by the United States Geological Survey, National Earthquake Information Center: An earthquake occurred about 35 km (25 miles) E of Tanaga Volcano, Alaska or about 65 km (40 miles) W of Adak, Alaska or about 1980 km (1230 miles) WSW of Anchorage, Alaska at 7:33 PM MDT, May 1, 2008 (4:33 PM AHDT in United States). The magnitude and location may be revised when additional data and further analysis results are available. There have been no reports of damage.
