What
do methane gas, hydrogen sulfide, ammonia and carbon monoxide
have in common?
First,
they're all formed as animal waste decomposes. Second, they're
all found in manure storage facilities and can turn them into
potential death traps.
It's
essential for dairy and livestock producers to follow all
safety precautions when they're around manure storage facilities.
These gases can--and will--kill if you aren't on the lookout.
Brought
to you by Iowa State University Extension's SAFE FARM program,
making Iowa farms a safe place to work and live.
