Farm
machinery comes in all shapes and sizes for all sorts of jobs.
And
sometimes, when you least expect it, farm machinery can accidentally
brush, or get hung up in, an overhead power line.
Electrical
wires usually are bare and uninsulated. So any contact with
them will send electric current straight to the ground - and
to you.
Touching
an overhead electrical line with a ladder, tractor CB antenna,
portable grain auger, oversized wagon, or any thing else is
a big mistake. It could be the last mistake you'll ever make.
Watch
out for overhead electrical lines when doing farm work. Know
where power lines are located on your property. Keep all equipment
away from overhead lines.
Electricity
doesn't allow mistakes. And neither should you.
This
message is brought to you by SAFE FARM, helping to make your
farm a safer place to work and live.
