South Dakota Department of
Tourism and State Development

The great faces of South Dakota are proud of our great places. We want people to feel at home in our state and we go out of our way to welcome visitors. That's just one of the many priviledges and responsibilities of the South Dakota Office of Tourism. We are here to serve the people of South Dakota and all who come to explore the Mount Rushmore State.

In addition to family and individual travelers, the Office of Tourism also markets to travel professionals who organize or lead tour groups, both domestic and international, as well as to filmmakers and others in the marketing and entertainment industry. To assist these and other specific audiences, we have Web sites tailored specifically to them:

www.MediaSD.com (also www.TravelSD.com/Newsroom)
South Dakota is full of history, adventure and family fun. If you're a reporter or freelance writer looking to do a feature story on South Dakota, you will find plenty of ideas in the South Dakota Newsroom. Here you can find story leads and South Dakota facts as well as sign up to receive press releases and RSS feeds.

www.TourSDakota.com (also www.TravelSD.com/TravelProfessionals)
Are you planning a tour or bringing a tour group to South Dakota? This Web site includes suggested itineraries, a directory of businesses that can accommodate groups as well as a list of receptive operators, and general information about South Dakota and our major attractions.

www.FilmSD.com
Find information on filming incentives, crews and services, locations, film permits and much more. This Web site is designed specifically for directors and producers who want to make use of South Dakota’s abundant resources.
