Census Brief: The Arab Population: 2000 — National, regional, state, county and selected place-level data on people who reported an Arab ancestry in Census 2000, with additional information on largest Arab groups. (Scheduled for release on Dec. 3.) Census Brief: The Foreign-Born Population: 2000 — Documents dramatic increase in the foreign-born population during the 1990s, with data summaries for the nation, regions, states, large cities and counties. (Tentatively scheduled for release the week of Dec. 7.) Census 2000 Special EEO Tabulation — Census 2000
tables accessible via the Internet on the number of people employed in
more than 400 occupations. The data are cross-tabulated by residence,
work site and worker flows from residence to work site. Summaries for

Facts for Features: Anniversary of Washington, D.C., as Nation’s Capital — Statistics from the Census Bureau’s demographic areas on the population of the District of Columbia in 1800 and today. (Scheduled for release on Dec. 1.) Custodial Mothers and Fathers and Their Child Support: 2001 — National data on single parents and their income between 1993 and 2001. The report discusses the impact of welfare reform on single parents’ participation in public assistance programs. (Scheduled for release on Dec. 2.) Facts for Features: First Flight Centennial —
Statistics on air transportation to commemorate the 100th anniversary
of the Wright brothers’ first powered flight. (Scheduled for release
on Facts for Features: The Holiday Season — Data
from the Census Bureau’s demographic and economic subject areas
pertaining to the end-of-the-year holidays. (Scheduled for release on Facts for Features: Social Security COLA — Statistics on Social Security beneficiaries and payments in preparation for the Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) scheduled to be implemented in January 2004. (Scheduled for release on Dec. 19.) Dynamics of Economic Well-Being: Who Gets Assistance, 1996-1999 — Focuses on participation levels and participant characteristics in six means-tested, public assistance programs immediately before and after federal welfare reform was enacted. National-level data only. (Tentatively scheduled for release the week of Dec. 7.) — Internet tables showing Data Collection in January for Quarterly Consumer Expenditure Survey — In January, Census Bureau interviewers will contact a national sample of randomly selected household in a survey that measures what Americans spend on groceries, clothing, health care and housing.
