Pre-apprenticeship and apprenticeship training in residential construction are offered through HBI’s Workforce Training and Employment programs.  Craft programs are public/private partnerships.  National, state, and local agencies conscious of the nation’s shortage of construction craft workers are faced with the need for long-term career training solutions and partner with the home building industry through HBI.

Comprehensive curricula, developed by members of the housing industry, combine academic instruction and hands-on training on actual construction projects and include literacy and employability skills.

Home Builders Associations (HBAs) also take advantage of HBI’s National Pattern Standards of Apprenticeship to help them establish training programs in Carpentry and Facilities Maintenance.
