BETWEEN
TREASURY INSPECTOR GENERAL FOR TAX ADMINISTRATION
AND
ASSISTANT COMMISSIONER (PROCUREMENT)
INTERNAL REVENUE SERVICE
This memorandum of Understanding (MOU) sets forth our agreement that the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Assistant Commissioner (Procurement) will provide acquisition support to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA), effective January 18, 1999. These services shall continue through the remainder of FY 1999 at a level commensurate with the service currently being provided to the Chief Inspector.
The Assistant Commissioner (Procurement) agrees to process, award, and administer TIGTA acquisitions in the IRS Headquarters and regional procurement offices, as appropriate. The TIGTA agrees to submit complete procurement requests (including documentation of all required Treasury reviews and approvals) to Procurement using the IRS's Request Tracking System (RTS). IRS contracting officers will process these procurement requests in accordance with applicable IRS procurement policies and procedures. The TIGTA will have access to those IRS contracts which are intended for use by multiple IRS users.
If continued procurement support is needed beyond FY1999, the TIGTA agrees to request the necessary services by preparing a written amendment to this MOU. Reimbursement of FTE or other resources will be documented at that time.
