Volcano Update from Archive

Report prepared by the Hawaiian Volcano Observatory (HVO):

7/21 eruption site: HVO field crews report that the lower fissure is still active; flows are ponding between Pu`u Halulu, Pu`u Kahauale`a, and Kupaianaha. There are 3-4 active ponds submerging the fissures. The narrow `a`a flow that yesterday morning was advancing toward the southeast is still stagnant and not moving.

If the weather permits, the field crew will reposition the webcam currently at Mauna Ulu. Its new planned location will be on the north rim of Pu`u `O`o pointing eastward to track the new eruption.
