Calculating specific heat, cp

Once λ and κ have been measured, the specific heat, cp, can be calculated by solving the definition of thermal diffusivity [Kittel and Kroemer, 1980] for specific heat:

equation   (6)

where ρ is sample's bulk density. The dependence of cp on κ means the scatter in cp is essentially controlled by the scatter in κ .
