The Rhode Island Student Loan Authority is a non-profit State Authority dedicated to providing affordable loans for higher education. Since 1981, we have been committed to creating innovative programs to help our fellow Rhode Islanders attain their career goals. For instance, our Teacher, Nurse and Pharmacy reward programs provide loan incentives to eligible students who are employed in one of these occupations in the State of Rhode Island. Through this program, students may qualify for zero interest loans and/or loan forgiveness for the first four years of repayment.

We were one of the first organizations to allow student loans to be endorsed electronically. Furthermore, we are the sponsors of the College Planning Center of Rhode Island, an organization that offers free admission and financial aid counseling to students and parents throughout the state.
