1997 Economic Census
Once the 1997 Economic Census data have been published according to NAICS, national and state totals will be recast according to SIC. The Comparative Statistics report will supersede the preliminary 2-digit SIC statistics included in the Advance report with 2-, 3-, and 4-digit SIC summaries, but in much the same format as Advance table 2.
Because of the complexity of evaluating the potential for disclosure of confidential company information in the interaction of NAICS and SIC codes, no SIC-based data will be published for metro areas, counties, or cities.
