The National Center for Preservation Technology and Training (NCPTT), Cane River Creole National Historical Park and Cane River National Heritage Area will present the sixth annual Preservation in Your Community event at NCPTT’s headquarters in Louisiana on Aug. 3, 2006. This event allows the public to learn about nationally significant research NPS is performing locally. This year, presentations will feature African-American burial traditions, archeological excavation of a historic Creole site, and cemetery biogrowth and cleaning studies.
