Architecture and Engineering Training

A major goal of the architecture and engineering program is to create or promote professional development via training in the preservation of historic structures. 90% of every construction dollar is spent on older buildings, because of this we believe that it is important to improve the nation’s built environment by rehabilitating and maintaining existing structures.

Since 2001 NCPTT’s architecture and engineering division has been working with partners to develop a preservation engineering curriculum and to prepare instructional materials for professional development courses. An example of this is the Engineering for Older Buildings training course that NCPTT hosts during the summer.
