Secretary Clinton To Speak at First Preparatory Session for the Major Economies Forum on Energy and Climate

Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton will deliver opening remarks at the first preparatory session of the Major Economies Forum on Energy and Climate on Monday, April 27, 2009, at 9:00 a.m., in the Loy Henderson Conference Room at the Department of State. This gathering of leaders’ representatives of 17 of the major economies, as well as the United Nations and Denmark, is expected to be the first of three preparatory sessions that will support a leaders meeting later this year.

The Secretary’s opening remarks are open to the press.

Pre-set times for cameras: 7:00 a.m. from the 23rd Street Entrance
Final access time for Still Photography and writers: 8:30 a.m. from the 23rd Street Entrance

Media representatives who plan to attend must present one of the following press credentials: (1) a U.S. Government-issued identification card (Department of State, White House, Congress, Department of Defense, or Foreign Press Center), (2) a media-issued photo identification card, or (3) a letter from their employer on original letterhead verifying their employment as a journalist, accompanied by an official photo identification (driver's license or passport).
