Get your personal refund information.
You can generally access information about your refund 72 hours after IRS acknowledges receipt of your e-filed return, or three to four weeks after mailing a paper return.
Have a copy of your tax return handy. You will need to provide the following information from your return:
Take me to Where's My Refund?.
Change your address or start a refund trace.
If Where’s My Refund? shows that IRS was unable to deliver your refund, you can change your address online.
If you don’t receive your refund within 28 days from the original IRS mailing date shown on Where’s My Refund?, you can start a refund trace online.
Where’s My Refund? will prompt you when these features are available for your situation.
