Applications for temporary/interim manufacturing (T/IM) authority are generally
processed within 75 days of filing by the FTZ staff. To be eligible for T/IM
consideration, the activity must occur within an approved zone or subzone site,
and the products and components must be similar to a recent FTZ Board approval.
The T/IM Database (below), includes eligible products and components. If your
specific 6-digit HTSUS is not included in the database, but your products and
components fall within included 4-digit HTSUS categories, you may provide
evidence that the activity is similar to the already approved activity to be
eligible for T/IM. Contact the FTZ Staff for assistance in determining if you
are eligible. For more information, see the
T/IM Q's & A's or visit the FTZ Manufacturing Center page.
