David Robinson, a career member of the Senior Foreign Service, is the Special Coordinator for Venezuela in the State Department’s Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs. He served as Ambassador to Guyana from 2006-2008; as Deputy Chief of Mission in La Paz, Bolivia from 2003-2006; and as Deputy Chief of Mission in Asuncion Paraguay from 2000-2003. In addition to several assignments in Washington, DC, including a fellowship to the United States Senate, he has been posted in the Dominican Republic, El Salvador and Iceland.
Mr. Robinson was born in Hartford, CT, and earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame. He is a Distinguished Graduate of the National War College and also holds of Master’s degree in theology.
