CoCoRaHS is Now in California!
The Community Collaborative Rain, Hail and Snow Network (CoCoRaHs) is a non-profit organization of
volunteer backyard observers whose purpose is to help 'fill in the gaps' where measurable precipitation normally
isn't recorded. Folks just like you are relied upon to accurately measure and report your
findings on a simple to use form via the internet to the CoCoRaHs web-site. YOUR local
National Weather Service will then use this information in its forecasts and post storm reporting. The information
is also used for a wide range of research.
More information about the program can be found by visiting the CoCoRaHs web-site at
www.cocorahs.org or by
contacting Charles Bell at charles.bell@noaa.gov,
Matthew Mehle at matthew.mehle@noaa.gov,
or Larry Smith at larry.smith@noaa.gov. You can also directly access the observer application
here.
