Teachers become the students during our Teacher Workshop weekends.

TEACHER WORKSHOPS

To help prepare teachers for our programs, we offer two workshops in the fall. The workshops cover pre- and post-visit activities and a walk-through of the programs. The cost of registration for the workshop is $50.00 per person. Two nights of lodging are provided and the park entrance fee is waived for workshop participants. Teachers receive a letter confirming they have completed 14 hours of training.  Although attendance at a workshop is not required to bring your students to Grand Canyon on a field trip, we strongly recommend participating as your students will benefit from your increased knowledge and preparedness. 

Fall 2008 Workshop Series dates:

October 24-26, 2008

November 14-16, 2008

Participants arrive at the park Friday evening for a social gathering with the Environmental Education staff. Beverages and hors d'oeuvres will be provided. Rangers will explain registration processes, travel grant requirements and school outreach opportunities.

The workshop continues at 8:30 AM on Saturday morning and finishes at approximately 1:30 PM on Sunday. Please indicate on the registration form your first and second date preferences.
